John Hanly & Co. – where tradition and quality have been spun continuously for five generations.

Since 1893, the Hanly family have maintained a tradition of weaving from their mill in Ballyartella, close to Nenagh in North Tipperary.

Today, this fifth-generation family weaving business continues to produce a range of high-quality and long-lasting woven products using only natural fibres.

Located adjacent to the mill on an idyllic site by the Nenagh River, the factory shop offers an enhanced retail experience where you will find great value in a wide range of woollen products, clothing, gifts, and accessories..

A visit to John Hanly Woollen Mills tells the story of a weaving mill that is rooted in family, community and tradition. It is a fascinating insight into the history, heritage, and continuing story of an Irish family weaving enterprise.

We invite you to step into a world where every thread tells a story.

Our fabrics are designed and woven on-site at the mill here in Ballyartella by a team of skilled craftspeople who are committed to producing luxurious woven products in a sustainable manner.

Every John Hanly piece that leaves our mill is proof of craftmanship, outstanding quality and timeless beauty – and we look forward to sharing our passion with you.
